Association for Northwest AdvancementFrom the President's Desk...Nick Campanelli I am proud to be a part of this organization which goes back to the 1960's with some very talented and successful business men and women at the helm. ANA has long been the advocacy voice for our neighborhood and the businesses that comprise it. Its tireless efforts will continue for many years to come. We are continually reaching further into the northwest area of Milwaukee to promote what we do, and the support we need to get it done. We enjoy what we have, not by accident, but because we are caring business owners and residents who expend extra effort to ensure that all the good things about our community stay that way. In these times of unprecedented economic challenges, it is imperative that ANA continues to provide value for its members. I assure you we are ramping up our efforts! We are very excited about our website and the new possibibilities it offers. Our website will help bring us closer together by "linking" not only our member businesses, but also local and state government sites. All of these things are helpful and will contribute to our objectives. There will be other useful links we hope our members will recommend, such as crime and zoning issues. Our goal is for us to serve as a model for other parts of the city and the state. Make this website your own. Knowing and sharing what we do and how we differ from outside competition is huge. The efforts of networking provides mutual benefits. We are business people who are dedicated and goal-oriented and don't shy away from hard work. The modest fee we request from our members is used as needed, with the approval of a majority Board vote. Our officers are elected, but donate their time and energy. ANA has "no" paid members and no free lunches. As an example, last year we used some of our treasury to do a mass mailing to express our displeasure in the proposed sick leave referendum. Although it passed, it is still on hold. Today, we continue to monitor that situation for a hopeful reversal. If there ever was a need for a collective "joining together", now is the time. If you are not a member, I urge you to please join us today! If you are already a member, consider taking on a more active role.
Let's make 2010 the year ANA businesses stare adversity squarely in the face and, SEND IT PACKING!
